SHAME (pre !) began as a 1 off (much storied) Halloween warehouse party conceived of by L.Sangre in 2019 and years later a handful of few offs followed in collaboration with Legendary Pieter Schoolwerth of very crucial, inspirational, and essential Wierd fame. 

Two iterations later, in 2025 after a most successful special edition* (Daughters of Spring) SHAME! ReLaunched with new fervor in conjunction with collaborator Liz Wendelbo (Xeno & Oaklander) to jointly nurture this venture. The Twin Star Duo has steadfastly hosted SHAME! on a monthly basis since then.  Mostly, each month has featured guest djs, as well as a visual art component by way of projecting films and video-collages in the space by Wendelbo and Sangre as well as a transformative olfactory infusion of the custom SHAME! Scent that Wendelbo created for the endeavour and embeds the air for each event.  SHAME! 2025 + and ~beyond was intended to be, and thusly has been an equal parts vehicle for visual/+art exploration by L.Sangre & Liz Wendelbo as much as for their curation of music, performance and more to come…. In conjunction with the monthly parties, SHAME! held 2 Art Shows in Aug and Nov of 2025 -  « EXPOSITION NON-FORMÉE I » &  « EXPOSITION NON-FORMÉE II » respectively which were 2 person shows featuring works by Sangre  & Wendelbo L.Sangre «[The] Ultimate Eternal I / II » & Liz Wendelbo « Lingua Ignota I / II ».

Over this year we have welcomed many a friend and guest dj such as Frankie Teardrop, Goutroy, Void Vision (twice!), Shawn O’Sullvan, Collin Crowe and (importantly!) even our dear Pieter Schoolwerth a couple of times…  In November 2025, SHAME! Introduced live performances to the nights with a first kick off show by inimitable MARTIAL CANTEREL, followed by a VeryRare unearthing of EPEE DU BOIS’ 1st live show in over a decade to round out December 2025.  To close out our first year of this joint venture, we took this show on the road for our 1st SHAME! Away Edition- a collaboration with our dear friends Monotone Miami hosted by Boombox Miami. Now, as We, Daughters of Spring, come to celebrate another year together in Life and Adventures we have much more on the horizons, and look forward to continued expansion of Our Vision, Explorations, & Creative Pursuits…. On Our Birthday Celebration 3/21, we welcome Michael Zodorozny of CRASH COURSE IN SCIENCE….

We start our year at a new private location in Manhattan bringing back equal parts mystique and grit to SHAME! NYC!!!!!!

Born from a need for something that felt like “home” to me & mine… In today’s overly saturated and frenzied pace, SHAME! was incarnated to be a haven, a harkening back…  We crave The Real, the Raw, Dance & Dalliance with Shadowy Tangible Forces, a Candlelit Interlude in an Underbelly that we’re Recalling and Recultivating Into Existence… This is not a club night, This is a Gathering of Senses.  We are drawing Back 2 Nature, to The Heart of It All- Without limitation, gravitating to unifying Uncanny Frequencies.  Tune In, Indulge, Slither Thru the Fog… DarkElectronics • Cold/Dark Wave • Minimal/Synth • Industrial • SynthPunk • BodyMusic- more & nothing less.
